There is Nothing Common About This
“ …but God has shown me that I should not call any person common or unclean.”
-Acts 10:28 (ESV)
Acts 10 tells the story of Cornelius and his household receiving the Holy Spirit and water baptism, while also sharing how God gave Peter a vision. In the vision God revealed to him not to call what He(God) has cleaned unclean or common. This chapter of scripture encourages us to have a transformation of mindset, urging believers to see themselves and others through God's perspective(eyes) and to be open to God’s method of working, even if it is new or not what you may expect.
Hey Investors!
Did you miss me?!?! Hopefully, your answer was “yes.” I am super excited to come back and relaunch our “Not Common” collections. In our time away, there was so much buzz about the design that I thought it was befitting to share my heart behind it.
However, I must first thank all of you for your support and encouragement since the inception of this business. This is an answered prayer, and I know that the success of SLCreations comes from God by way of you! With that gratitude in my heart, I want to share the inspiration behind our “Not Common” design.
I have always been intentional when it comes to our designs for SLCreations, and it was no different when it came to our “Not Common” design. Being a believer in Jesus, and pursuing to be His disciple, I have been set apart according to Leviticus 20:26(NIV): “You must be holy because I, the LORD, am holy. I have set you apart from all other people to be my very own.” I want to be clear my being set apart is no different than any others who choose to follow Jesus, and just like you, being “Not Common” doesn’t make me better than anyone else.
Now, I also understand although I am a believer, not everyone who shops SLCreations or reads the blogs here will be of the same belief as me or believe at all. The purpose of this business is to create merchandise to encourage all to walk in, acknowledge, and/or believe they have a purpose. It’s your purpose that makes you “Not Common”. When we operate in purpose we become who we were created to be.
So this design was created, essentially to speak to all of us!
To the individual(s) that feels like they never fit in, embrace that because you are “Not Common”!
To the individual(s) who are dealing with mental health challenges, diagnosed, and undiagnosed, it’s okay, things get better, embrace that, and know you are “Not Common”!
To the family whether big or small, biological or chosen through the trials and the victories embrace each other and know you are “Not Common”!
To the business owner, entrepreneur, and those inspired to start their journey as entrepreneurs but hesitant because they feel like the sector they want to get into is overly saturated: embrace your business plan and start because you are “Not Common”!
To the creative, embrace your creativity, and don’t be afraid to share it with others because you are “Not Common”!
Lastly to YOU, embrace who you were, who you are, and who you are becoming, because you(say it aloud) are “NOT COMMON”!
I’m so excited for you to explore the “Not Common” collection because your uniqueness deserves to be celebrated!
