Fear Cost Me $28/Month
The saying “fear is crippling” is greater associated with the fear of failing than it is with the fear of success. Nonetheless, if our fear is greater than our courage we have eliminated ourselves from the equation of greatness. Fear is a valid emotion, but we can not allow it to be the driving force of our lives. Thus, I must make my confession: ‘fear has cost me $28/ month by keeping my website a secret.’.
Being trusted with one’s secret is a great reflection of one’s character. However, when the secret is yours to tell and you neglect to share it due to self-detrimental thoughts and fears, secrets begin to cost you. For some, it costs health, relationships, jobs, mental health, and the list goes on. For me, it has cost money, and who likes losing money?!?! NOBODY!!! Holding on to this secret is no longer an option for me.
What happens when you don’t practice what you preach? YOU LOSE CREDIBILITY…I cannot tell you that you were created purposefully and neglect to believe the same for myself. I cannot inspire you to walk in or become what you were purposefully created to do or be and neglect to do or be so myself. I find great discomfort in being watched, but when you have been created to set the standard, pave the way for others, and connect the dots for those in your village. Unfortunately, whether we like it or not all eyes will be drawn to us. This is where fear set in for me.
As I stated, fear is a very valid emotion, we all experience it throughout life. Nevertheless, it’s how we respond, react and recover to fear that is of most importance. Unfortunately, it has become an emotion in which I began to operate out of and that is no longer acceptable for the well-being of myself, my business, my legacy, my relationships, my village, and the many individuals I have yet to encounter. Twenty-eight dollars cannot compare to the priceless moments and encounters to come as I change my response, reaction, and recovery to fear.
This platform (slcreations92.com) has been in hiding for too long, due to my fear. As a believer, I often hear fear is the opposite of faith, but I like to challenge this teaching within myself and fellow believers. Fear is not the opposite of faith, but it is the avenue in which our lack of faith is exposed. They are both valid responses that we must choose between. If we choose fear, our purpose is strangled and what we were created to do on/in the earth will not be fulfilled through us, because God has plenty of avenues to get what he needs to be done, DONE! BUT when we choose faith God promises to be with us and help us (Isaiah 41:13) fulfill the purpose for which he created us.
For SLCreations92 to become the success I desire it to be, I have to choose faith. I’m not saying that the feeling(s) of fear disappeared, but I am saying that when fear rises within me I must take it to God, and exchange my fear for his promise, trusting that he will be my help. So, whether you struggle with the fear of failure, the fear of success, or fear in general I encourage you to not allow it to cripple you but to apply this simple prayer from Mark 9:24. Simply say, “Lord, I believe you have created me for this purpose (insert whatever you are afraid of doing), but help and heal my lack of faith to accomplish it, Amen!”
Peace and Blessings,
